- The Dual Enrollment Program was created to allow qualified students to
fulfill high school graduation requirements while earning college credit
toward a degree program. You must have passing scores on the CPT and a
minimum 3.0 GPA for the AA and AS programs.
- Courses are offered on the Lake City Community College campus and also
on the Fort White High School campus.
Some courses are also offered via the Internet.
- The program is fully funded by
the state; consequently, there is no cost to you for admission fees,
tuition, or books during the regular school year.

- Eligibility Requirements:
- CPT: Sentence Skills (English);
Reading portions = 83 minimum;
Math portion = 72 min. or
- ACT: English = 17; Reading = 18;
Math = 19 or
- SAT: Verbal and/or Math section
= 440
- FWHS GPA: 3.0 min (AA and AS
degree programs-does not include math and most science courses)
- LCCC GPA: 2.0 min (maintained)
- 10th -12th grade

- GENERAL INFORMATION
- Freshmen are NOT ALLOWED to participate in Dual Enrollment. Sophomores are DISCOURGAGED from dual
enrollment until the second semester of their 10th grade year
- STUDENTS AND PARENTS SHOULD REALIZE THAT DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES ARE
COLLEGE LEVEL COURSES AND ARE NOT EXTENSIONS OF HIGH SCHOOL
- Each grade earned under the Dual Enrollment Program becomes a part of
the student’s college (G.P.A.) and is also part of the student’s high
school G.P.A.

- Check the dates for early registration.
- Visit www.lakecitycc.edu and identify the degree program/major, courses
offered and sections available.
Write down the exact classes and times you want, complete with
the number, day, and time and take this to your high school guidance counselor.
- Application (found online too):
high school guidance counselor helps complete the registration
form. If you are a returning dual
enrollment student, bring your LCCC student ID card or number with you,
because it will be used on the form.

- ENROLLMENT AND

- Call Mrs. Williams, LCCC Dual Enrollment Academic Advisor, (754-4222) to
schedule a meeting and take the application form with you.
- After meeting with Mrs. Williams, bring the signed pink copy back to
your high school guidance counselor to enter into the high school’s
computer system.
- Any drop/adds within the required time frames at FWHS and/or LCCC must
follow this same process.
- Any changes in LCCC courses (dropping, adding, withdrawing) MUST
originate with your high school guidance counselor.

- What Can My LCCC ID Card Do For Me?
- Dual Enrollment students are issued a Lake City Community College
Identification Card at the Students Activity Office in Building 14 of
the Student Union Building.
- Take advantage of the programs, services, and activities on the Lake
City Community College campus.
- Use this number to log into the student section of the LCCC website to
check your grades, transcripts, and current schedules.
- Use the number to enroll for courses on your registration form.

- STUDENTS MUST TAKE AT LEAST ONE CREDIT-EARNING COURSE AT FWHS AND MUST
HAVE A TOTAL OF SIX CLASSES EACH REGULAR SEMESTER.
- If a student wants to drop a course, he or she must do so by the
college’s drop/add deadline in order to not receive a grade.
- If a student wishes to withdraw from a course and receive a “W” on his
or her college transcript, the student must do so by the college’s
withdrawal deadline.
- If a student withdraws from a college course after the first three weeks
of the high school semester, he or she will receive an “F” on his or her
high school transcript.

- When and How To Get Books
- Students should check out book(s) and/or access code(s) for college
courses one week prior to the start of the college courses at the FWHS
Media Center.
- Times for dual enrollment materials checkout will be posted each
semester
- If a student does not return his/her dual enrollment book(s) to the FWHS
Media Center one week after the end of his/her college final exam(s),
the student will be placed on the school obligation list, and school
board policy will be followed accordingly

- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Students are expected to complete coursework in the time provided. Plagiarism could result in an “F” and
dismissal from the Dual Enrollment Program.
- Students are required to be on-time to class and should not leave class
early.
- If a situation arises where a student must be absent or leave class
early, he or she should notify the instructor prior to the incident or
immediately upon return from the absence.
- Students are expected to complete coursework in the time provided
- When a scheduling conflict arises between required or extra-curricular
activities at FWHS and LCCC, it is the STUDENT’S responsibility to make
arrangements with the LCCC instructors and FWHS staff.

- HELPFUL REMINDERS
- FOR THE BEST SELECTION OF CLASSES AND EASE IN ARRANGING SCHEDULING,
ALWAYS REGISTER AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE.
- Internet courses entail much student freedom and require a large amount
of self-discipline on the student’s part.
- The instructor will contact you once you log into blackboard: https://blackboardlakecitycc.edu
- Type user name (SSN or LCCC ID#) and 6 digit birth date (mmddyy)
- Make sure you update your email address so your internet instructor can
send course instructions and syllabus.
- An instructor may not have your class up and running on Blackboard
until the week-end before classes begin, so DON’T PANIC! If you have registered for the class,
you will be able to access the course information by the first day of
classes.

- COURSES
- Each course is worth 3-4 college credits.
- Most math and English classes will earn 1 full high school credit. All others will earn ½ high school
credit.
- Please visit www.facts.org to see a complete list of acceptable classes
that students may take and what type of credit and amount of credit they
equal to at the high school level.
- The Student Progression Plan outlines the effect of weighting at the
high school level in terms of the high school GPA.
